Mandatory fee increase

For next school year, it looks like out of state graduate students will see an increase in mandatory fees of $1,020.00 (non-residents). Currently, the mandatory fees consist of the following components: service fee, graduate senate fee, health fee, and curriculum fee. How is the increase distributed?

All in curriculum fee.

研究生每学期9个学分的mandatory fee(包括service fee 和 senate tax) 是近700美金。

Nobody is safe/free from this fee increase.

The email from the president of the graduate senate this morning made it clear that all the hikes will be in curriculum fees. And if one is represented by the GEO, one is shielded from this fee increase.

simonyang 发表于 2009-2-25 03:04 PM

In other areas, the impacts of fee increases have been overstated. For
example, of the approximately 5,750 graduate students, 90 percent will
not see any increase in their mandatory fees or tuition. This fact has
been overlooked by many when discussing fee increases. The bottom line,
so to speak, is that our proposal is to increase curriculum fees by $520
a year for full-time, in-state graduate students and $1,020 for
full-time, out-of-state graduate students. Fewer than 600 of these
students pay any tuition or curriculum fees.
