Hotel booking in boston

I remember laogen (anyone knows his new phone #?) posted 40$ for a 4 star hotel, who had similar experience? need help a friend book one-night hotel

Sometimes you can get a deal like that, but it is not always the case, if I were you, this is exactly what I would do, I would wait till 48 hours before the arrival, then

1.  Go to hotwire.com, and put in Boston, MA, search for hotel, choose the areas and find out the lowest rate you can get for 4-star, let's say you find it to be $65, don't book it.

2.  Go to priceline.com, choose Hotel, ** and click the Name your own price ** link, choose only one area to start with, and bid something like $40, if they cannot find it, add one more area, and raise the bid a tad bit ... so on and so forth

3.  If you win the bid in Priceline, that's cool -- if not, you can still go with Hotwire.

Please remember that the deal only happens when there is no major event going on in Boston, don't be surprised there are plenty in Boston around Fall.  Hotels are generally less expensive on Saturdays, most expensive on Mondays.

getting rusty with all these le, but tangent brought out some good points.
