欧洲旅游签证(问题加info)

今天想起来搞一月欧洲旅游的签证了，才两国UK, France, 就巨麻烦啊, research了一个上午。(不知道论坛里有没有贴过？)
还有很多问题，希望去过的大虾们多多指教和补充啊
[color=Red]NOTE[/color]：只适用于中国公民(non US citizen or permanent resident)短期旅游

1) US VISA & Canadian VISA
要回美国当然要USVisa, 去Canada签证的都要去拜读一下老坛上AmherstNO.1的帖子

2）UK Visa
有two options: by mail or in person
UK consulates in US that accept visa applicaitons: LA, NYC, and Chicago （变态的少啊）
Steps:
a)Fill out  online Application

b) 填完online app 后会有一个page交待要送的材料：

•        either a letter confirming your period of leave from your employer together with salary slips for the last three months or a certificate confirming you have continuing studies or if you are self employed, evidence of your business.

•        One recent colour passport photograph (not more than six months old) Please note: scanned or copies of photos are not acceptable

c)如果是面签，$100 payable by credit or debit t/d the end of online app.
如果是by mail， an additional $12 processing fee.

3) French Visa
（UK不是Schengen Countries之一）
Applicaiton In Person Only
Steps:
a) make an appointment online (FOR SF area only!!)

b) 面签 for a short-stay visa
材料
1.        Application form for a short-stay visa. To obtain the visa application form, click here. (PDF format - 40 Kb)
2.        Recent passport-sized photograph
3.        Valid travel document (valid for at least three months longer than the visa applied for)
4.        Ticket for the entire outward and return journey (at the time of the application's presentation, only documentary evidence of the reservation is required)
5.        Documentary evidence of socio-professional situation: professional card, pay slip, certificate of school or university attendance, student card, pension book, evidence of retirement pension or pension de reversion (survivor's pension), etc.
6.        Documentary evidence of accommodation in France: attestation d'accueil (official proof of residence or projected residence), hotel reservation, title deeds or rental agreement, or any documentary evidence of ownership or rental of accommodation
7.        Documentary evidence of means of support for the duration of the stay: currency, international bank card, traveller's cheques
8.        Assistance agreement covering medical and repatriation expenses, where appropriate

c) about Schengen Agreement
Schengen Visa是一种可以让你在Schengen agreement countries travel up to 90 days的visa. Schengen coutnries 有Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

应该在哪国使馆申请：（这是从Belgium的embassy website上找到的）
1. If you intend to visit only one Schengen country, apply at the Embassy or Consulate of that particular country. You apply at the Embassy or Consulate in whose jurisdiction you are a resident.
2. If you intend to visit several Schengen countries, apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the country which is your main destination.
3. If you intend to visit several Schengen countries but do not have a main destination, apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the country which is your first point of entry.

这是SchengenVisa的requirements (来自French consulate in SF website):
Passport valid for three months beyond the last day in Schengen States (+ 1 copy)

Proof of legal status in the United States (green card, valid visa, I20, I94) (+ 1 copy) NO VISAS WILL BE ISSUED FOR B1/B2 HOLDERS

1 Short Stay Schengen application form legibly filled out and signed

1 recent passport-size photograph (color or black and white, 35x45 mm, clear background)

Financial guarantees : last 3 bank statements (+ 1 copy) and the last 3 paystubs (+ 1 copy)- Homemakers should provide their spouse’s documents (letter of employer or business license) and marriage certificate - If self-employed provide a business license.

Proof of health insurance with medical coverage valid while traveling abroad - Emergency return for an amount of 30,000 euros (+ 1 copy) You will have to proove that the coverage is still valid either with a letter from your medical insurance or some specific dates of coverage

No visa will be issued without a round trip airline ticket (+ 1 copy) / E-tickets must be issued by the airline company (+ 1 copy)

Confirmed hotel reservation of all the countries you will visit for each single night spent in Europe (+ 1 copy) or "Attestation d’Accueil" obtained from the City Hall by the host in France (+ 1 copy

[color=Red]问题[/color]： Schengen Visa c) 和 short-stay visa a) b) 是两种不同的visa吗？？？为什么requirements不一样？ Schengen visa竟然要health insurance??!! short-stay visa只要flight/hotel reservation info，而Schengen visa好像要看air tickets??

d)fee: 好像是35欧元

看来从美国去欧洲旅行是一个很大的project, 好累...

好像穷游大部分是从中国国内去旅游的，是不是不适合这里的情况啊？？
不过搞清楚了，Short-stay visa 就是Schengen visa

这个帖子好啊，大家知道得都来回答一下吧，然后偶把答案放到第一楼，然后设个精华，以后去欧洲旅游就有据可查了。

刚从欧洲云游了40天回来，就我所知到的，试着回答一些。
1.关于加拿大签证的放号时间。这就不好说了，我上次去签是星期4约到的第二个星期一的，星期五就出发了。估计是有人cancel他的appointment。不过据说是一般中午放号，具体时间就不一定了。能做的就是没事就上网看看，难说就碰到了。

2。关于英国签证，我去西部之前顺便在纽约签，当时是$95,估计现在有涨了5刀。对了寄签每什么发言权，不过据说是14-20天左右。如果顺便到NYC的话最好面签，过程非常简单，如果材料准备得好，基本没问任何问题，一个小时拿到，多次往返的半年签证。

3。关于生根签证。 其实申根签证有好几种，短期的只是其中一个类，所以也包含在里面。一般都是来申请多次往返的短期签证，签证有效期的时间长短还要看你的机票时间和酒店的预订时间长短，而且一般要在主申请国的呆的时间要最长，所以最好订酒店的时候多订几天在申请国的。 Hearth insurance，飞机票的reservation都要齐全。不过跟酒店一样，就找可以cancel订就好了，打印出来就cancel，不会损失一分钱。记得一定要把要求的资料及附印件带全，我就因为忘带I-20的复印件第二天又跑了一趟法国临时馆。随便到老根那里蹭了顿饭，呵呵！

我在google上找到了这么一个travel insurance的网站，可以做quote和网上购买。 去法国旅游必须买travel insurance, 可以选either travel medical policies (较便宜，也够用，两个人10天才收$21)or travel package policies。

我对我的hotel和flight的reservation不是很sure啊。因为是Gate1Travel买的package, 先付了600定金，寄来了一个电子的invoice. 上面有hotel的名字和flight number。这能不能搞定啊？请问Tommytravel的reservation和flight是什么样子的？还有请问你是先办美国签证再做法国签证吗？如果我先搞法国签证不知道会不会有问题啊？

你这个package估计也能用，不过你是去几个国家的package? 能不能搞定，我不sure。总之，你的invoice上要有详细的酒店reservation时间，还有详细的往返航班时间。

我的航班是打了个电话给agent,然后让他们发个预订给我，48小时不出票自动取消，所以免去后顾之忧，不用交任何押金。酒店建议用choicehotels.com, 或bestwestern.com预订，网上直接打印reservation，马上cancel。

我的美国签证时年初回国的时候弄得，所以还可以用。肯定要先办美国签证，否则法签是拿不到的。

有问题再问。

等我proposal答辩了马上就写。

住朋友那里据我所知非常麻烦，你朋友需要写邀请信然后到当地市政厅盖章，然后再寄给你。个人觉得还是订酒店来的方便。
