I don't judge people. I do judge theory tho. There are things one believes and things one can prove; I will respect everything belongs to the belief, but I will challenge the proof. :)
To welcome or reject democracy is another issue. Nobody says the world should be managed in a rational way or even have common understandings. Not even most people care about the existence of mankind. So, in real world, we can be advocates of democracy, pastors of freedom of speech or whatever we can to gain whatever we want. That's the real world thing, non-negotiable.
And back to the theory, democracy, is not what it being advertised for. It does not provide the restriction of power, the protection of rights or similar executable benefits. It is essential to the United States because of the immigration society needs a "common symbol" to make the country united. Exactly as you said, it provides the security and basis of entrust for Americans. As we can see, it is the root of the U.S.
Does it applicable to the other parts of the world? We need to examine. and it would be my pleasure to hear your opinions. :)

for things in China, I think what we need is the transparency of procedures and we need general public to try the best to actively guard the fairness of the procedure with the help from the non-beneficial third party -- most of the time, the vast bais of scholars and researchers.
this is not possible in the United States because here the culture is money monoply. with the high diversity nature of our culture, we might be able to achieve a real balanced social system.
however, i might not be able to see that day i guess, lol :kuangxiao :kuangxiao

我没得说了。昨晚连夜拉了两车板砖,现在没地儿拍去。
同意,转锦涛、家宝同志阅。
