语文老大又在mailing list上面发话了
偶读得那个敬仰啊
曾想群发一封表示崇拜,
后来想想还是算了
在自己的地头上挖个坑,高高拱上

[zz]语文老大就种族主义问题语录
Well, this is getting more interesting.
As i said before, as a elections committee member, i am not in a position to make evaluation or suggestions about any candidate.
But i guess what I CAN say is that whoever said Jeff was a racist should come from the opposing group, i.e., the campaigning slate with 3 indian candidates and one African who has historically been supported by the Indian community.
Jeff is admitted to the graduate program of labor studies and will become a graduate student in the summer. The elections committee recomend to extend the candidate eligibility in line with the spirit of GSS constitution which encourages extensive participation. It has been a controversial issue and will continue to be if he wins. Personally, I respect the decision made in the senate meeting for such an extension.
As for the issue of racism, I don't know anything about his wife, and I'm not sure if one has to have the same political stance with his wife -- his wife being a white supremecist should qualify him as a racist? But if we are going to call names, I do know that Roderick Anderson -- author of the long email below -- is a racist, in a weired way. Just the most recent example, one white man, one African American, two Indians, two Chinese students were in the same room, and he thinks that there is only one student of color at present, and any decision made was made by a bunch of "white" people in favor of "white" people. I also found his categorization stupid: for me, there is no distinction between progressive "white" students and progressive "colored" students. If you are progressive, then you are progressive, no matter what color or race or ethnicity you are.
Therefore, I was a litlle shocked by your statement of standing together with students of color. Isn't it the deepest logic of racism to say that simply becaue i am a student of color and therefore i am inherently immune to any kind of racism? If you have noticed the problems of GSS, or not noticed because of its intentional lack of visibility which has been the biggest problem, then the real focus should be: who will be able to save GSS, or, who will have even the slightest chance of changing the incredibly strong stalement that have prevented GSS from becoming accountable to the Chinese students, and all other graduate students groups as well?
It is my firm belief that every student is a student of color!
Are you really not going to vote?
Cheers again, in solidarity,
liu, zixu
