[视频]全新linux界面，炫得跟mac os x有得比！
今天早上开会的时候有人show off了一把，
他做presentation的时候我还一直以为是mac
但尾了才发现是台thinkpad
再一问，装了linux
原来是装了xgl界面
搜了一段video给大家看看

i now have a debian (vmware) box. seems the installation is not very straightforward.
will see how far i can go.
edited: oops, may not work as wmware simulates the video cards as a non ati/nvida one...

tnnd,它的video play能力太强了，video能够overlap,还能transparent

报告一下：
ubuntu + vmware 没搞定，因为vmware模拟的显卡不能3d acceleration
就换了硬盘上有独立分区的fedora + native ATI 显卡
先是upgrade fedora core 4 -> fc5，然后找到一个简单的instruction, follow了一下
结果..... X crashed
原因可能是我用了多核处理器的kernel **-smp，xgl server不认识ati smp的driver；可是查了一下reference不像是这么回事。改用单处理器的kernel也不行。。。。也许是我的kernel太新了
半瓶醋暂时不搞了，呵呵

呵呵，偶已经试过了
在偶的laptop上都运行得不错，挺smooth的
google xgl livecd吧
什么都不用搞，burn张cd就可以试了

Nice potentials, now I hope a strong design team could take the technology and design a usable interface. So far, the interface to me is more of a technical showcase, its usability still needs to be greatly refined and distilled.
