关于学校买保险的事情

由于是访问学者一年，学校推荐买一年的保险1180＄，但不是硬性规定必须得买，不知道该不该买的？美国这边的医药费是不是很贵的？买了以后是不是看病不需要钱，只是拿药需要钱呢？像我们访问学者一般在哪里就医呢？

你的怎么300多？我怎么被告知可供选择的一年险种只有1180＄的啊。

自己在网上找吧，谁告诉你必须是1180呢？怎么可能，大使馆推荐的才50多一个月，只是在MA没有，就自有自己买了，只要能cover J1的要求就可以了。1180，比一月的生活费还多哦。

那我在以后要改成你说的这种了

我在IPO的推荐下，买了$101/月的，太贵了。好在我才买了三个月的，应该是可以更改的吧。？

why not buy the insurance from PSI? it is only $562.
I have bought it 2days ago with the help of Dai Peng.

Moreover, try to join GEO, u can buy one with an even lower prize. it is said that we can apply to join it from 1th Oct to about 10th Oct.

GEO? 访问学者不算graduate吧

I don't think visiting scholars/postdoc can join GEO.  GEO only includes graduate student who get an assistantship position or working fellowship.  Where did you get the info about "joining GEO in Oct 1-10"???

看来只有自己买了，上次看的300多的找不到了。

上次cs的orientation一开始有个GEO的介绍，说是10月1开始可以申请，难道我听错了？

关于保险，俺是借用戴鹏的信用卡在[url]www.psiservice.com[/url] 上面买的。student/Scholar Plan I的那种，psi上可以查到UMass,就直接给我推荐那个plan了
