About health insurance

I have a question from you, we just enrolled in the new health insurance for next year which is probably from 1st Nov. 2007, not sure. it covers the whole year, right?
But if I am leaving amherst after next May, can I still get benefits till next 31st Oct. I mean somewhere else in US. of course.

First, are you talking about dental/vision or health insurance???
1. Dental/vision insurance covers Nov 1, 07 to Oct 31, 08
2. Health insurance covers Aug 1, 07 to July 31, 08.
If you leave Amherst after May (as long as you graduated, not drop off from your program, and you are GEO eligible for the whole year), both of your insurance will go till the end of the coverage. Dental/vision covers across the country, you need to look for covered providers. For health insurance, it is only good when you can go to UHS in UMass. If you're not going to UHS as the primary provider, your coverage is very low. They still have some coverage, you can check for details in UHS website/GEO website. But you need to anticipate you need to pay a lot out of pocket since coverage for non-preferred providers is very low.
