请教有人知道换机油不？

有点想DIY一下 卡卡 虽然好像好冷

换filter太麻烦
没有自己的garage不好弄

I see it's only get your car lifted up......
Where to dispose the changed oil and filter?

First, you need to find a leveled ground to jack up your car. Unleveled ground could cause jack failure.
Second, you need to use jack stand, in case jack fails. If your car is heavy, 2 stands are required.
Third, Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts in Northampton, all accept used oil and filter for free, if you purchase oil and filter in their stores (as long as i remember).

I suggest you not to perform oil change by yourself during the winter season, especially you are new to car mechanics. Even you have your own heated garage, it could take couple of hours to do if you have never worked on your car before.

Go to Jeffylube or Firestone, have it changed for $20 is well worth the time and money.

道理上说可以的，但实现比较难。你也可以搞个car ramp. 把车开上去，人就可一转进去了。大冬天的为了省十几刀，冻的半死，太不值了。Jeffylube, Firestone，coupon 很多的。我上周刚去了一次。oil change + tire rotation, $20 after tax after coupon.

Ramp好贵 一个Ramp相当于一个半个千斤顶了

千斤顶只能用来顶起，千万不要做长时间的支撑，非常危险。

Firestone我去过一次，很怀疑他们的synthetic blend用的是什么质量的。正常的5qt普通牌子synthetic blend就要这个价钱了，所以我信不过这个广告。反正我现在只用full synthetic，所以也不会再去了

There are two types of jack:
1. Scissor jack, which goes with every car, and can only raise one corner at a time. The only thing you can do with it is to change a flat tire, or to do something with you brake. Even for these jobs, a jack stand is recommended.
2. Floor jack. It can raise one end at a time. However, it is still not safe to operator under the car with its support only. Jack stands are REQUIRED.

再次重申FAQ里边最后一条原则。如果没有jack stand就往车下钻，压死了不要怪我没有警告你

full synthetic和普通的synthetic有啥区别啊？还有你在哪换的油啊？

Full synthetic is synthetic. I usually bring my own oil and filter to Walmart and let them do the work. I'm too lazy to crawl under the car now.

do u have a well in ur yard?

You can buy your own oil and filter then change it with someone?

where to do that ? and what kind of oil and filter do you recommend
