It cannot be repaired, but not that expensive to replace.

Get some good-looking rims, the stock ones are usually too plain. There are cheap alloy rims for about $100 each, many look good.

everything can be repaired, even human organs.

however, if you go to junk yard, aka auto salvage, chances are that you might find parts in decent shape with very cheap price.

OK, to the garage, repairing a deformed rim is more expensive than buying a new one, so they do not want to do it that way. Remember, labor in US is not as cheap as in China, especially for mechanics.

oh, really?  like I just jumped off the ship

......how the quarrel started......

if just for around $100.....I would prefer to change a new one......safety is the most important thing that I don't think it's a good place to save money

RIM is very hard to repair, because they are forged in one piece initially. It is not worthy it to repair a damaged rim, period.

$400 for 1 rim is rip off. Unless you are talking about 20''+. Maybe for 4 rims, then thats reasonable.

First, cheapest solution, you can look for a OEM rim at local JUNK YARD. Call and give them your model, year...etc.

Second, you can contact your car dealer for a new OEM, but it will not match the rest 3 rims, in terms of used and brand new. Bear in mind, dealer OEM parts almost never runs cheap.

Last, like 斑主 said, go for after-market rims. FYI,  you probably want to change all 4 rims to match the look. Making sure all the specs fit your car. It seems simple, but actually pretty confusing on getting a perfect fit after-market rim.

www.tirerack.com is pretty well-known for rims also.

被大家说得好严重啊

没有那么严重啦

从视觉上,看不出太大的形变,只是导致了一些漏气

另外我也不会在意外观的说~~~还是先再去哪检查一下 确定是这个问题再说吧 谢啦

If your wheel is not bended at all; just a little deformation around the edge/ rim that causes air leakage, there is an alternative: you can install an inner tube.

The Monroe guys here in my area (Dartmouth) don't know shit and always try to rip people off. Two classic incidents happened recently:

1/ A post-doc went there for an oil change. They told him his brakes needed service ASAP or otherwise too danger to drive. The post-doc told them all 4 brakes had been replaced in their shop a yr. ago. They blamed him for harsh driving style. I checked all brakes (calipers, pads, rotors) for him and they were as good as new! The post-doc also paid $90 for a cooling system flush there two weeks ago. However, this past weekend when I did the water pump, coolant came out had the appearance and smell like sewage! They didn't even flush then charged him $90!!!

2/ My brother took his car, purchased new a mere 1.5 yr. ago, to replace all 4 tires. The kid there used hammer to bang on the rear drums trying to take them off. My brother yelled to stop him and said he only asked to replace the tires. When my brother was not watching, the kid went on to pop the hood and open the air box. He took out the filter and shown it to my brother saying it was too dirty and needed to be replaced. But folks, that was an oiled K&N in its natural color!

Comeon, many garages are like that. That's how they make money.

My suggestion is, DIY whenever possible.

I don't mind shops charge their customers high price; after all, auto repair is hard and dirty work and shop owners have to pay for overheads and insurance. But at least they have to be honest running the business.

Regarding DIY, if you don't want to get your hands dirty and you can earn more per hr. than what mechanics charge you per hr., go ahead and have them do it for you. I now impose my personal policy when people come to me for help. For female, she has to know how to check all fluids under the hood and proper tire pressure; for male, all of the mentioned + buying a set of basic hand tools + changing to a spare tire in front of me.

P.S./ Pretty girls are exempted from the aforementioned LOL
