As you may know, our current GEO contract will expire in June 30 2006. It means what we currently enjoy: increased wages, tuition waive, health benefits, childcare benefits… can be disappeared if we don’t fight for UMass administration’s recognition of a new contract.
The elected bargaining team (our CSSA president, Zhan Gong, is one of them) in GEO has worked out a proposal. In order to receive more feedback before we exchange the proposal with UMass, GEO staffs will try hard to go to different departments to talk to members regarding the proposal.
As part of the CSSA, I hope to make use of this chance to get feedback and ratification from the Chinese community. I know you always have gatherings and parties, esp. during this thanksgiving weekend. Can you let me know where and when your party is so that I can come and present to you? It may only take 20-30minutes including your time of reading a 2 paged summary and time of your feedback and questions.
As the proposal cannot be circulated, so that UMass administration would not know about the details before the exchange, I need some face-to-face meeting with you!
