We need member observers in the session because this can give them more pressure. The past 4 months we didn't have observers, so the admin just kept saying non-sense and outrageous things, like, no information provided, they need to be extra caution about international students, grad employees shouldn't have a contract as they can ask Dean Mullin whenever they have problems...
They can't and won't say these things with 100 grad employees looking at them and hearing from them.
It's obvious that over the past 4 months, we didn't have anything concrete from them until this week, after having 100 members observing last Friday.
We always win our contract by mobilizing our members in different events to show strength, to show members care and know about their benefits and the contract. Our last last resort would be strike. We hope that they will understand and get threatened that we really can mobilize our members in that extent so they will give us a reasonable contract before we need to use our last resort.
